Bilingual Inclusive Education (BIE) Program

Overview:

The BPS Teacher Pipeline Programs has partnered with UMass Boston to pilot a unique Bilingual Inclusive Education (BIE) Program. Our goal is to help our bilingual paraeducators and new teachers develop the skills and confidence they need to improve the lives of Boston's multilingual students and students who need special education services.

This is a one-time, fully-funded opportunity for 7 Bilingual Educator/ Accelerated Community to Teacher (BE/ACTT) program graduates who are bilingual BPS educators. They will complete their Master's degree in Education with dual licensure in Moderate Disabilities (at UMass Boston) and Bilingual education workshops (at BPS) from Summer 2025 to Spring 2027.

Journey for Bilingual Inclusive Education Candidates:

From paraeducator to professional teacher
